Hey Serge! Very well done, amigo.
The joy and wonder on your Mom's face is obvious.
That makes it all worth-while, doesn't it?

Keep it up,

Steve

Serge a very heartfelt congratulations to you. You are a good son -- I am sure your mom will treasure your gift as none other in her possession.

Many thanks for posting all of your progress pictures -- it sure motivated me to get back into the shop.

You must have really put the pedal to the metal to finish 'er up as it seems only like a couple of weeks ago that you were carving the neck and getting it ready to be fretted.

I am looking forward to seeing you and your fine work at the end of the month!

Hesh/Mike -- kinder words I have not read before -- you fellas are top drawer!

WOW! Thanks to all for the very kind words , my folks left just a little while ago, we had tea and played music(guitar-mandolin) and i'm still floating on a musical cloud!

I wish i could share a sound file with you all, it really sounds better each minute that passes by, i feel i do owe you folks a whole lot, just being a member here is a privilege for me, your daily encouragements is inscribed(sp?) deep in my heart forever, you all helped me realize my dream of building a beautiful and great sounding instrument, my craftmanship has improved dramatically thanks to you and i plan on being a member here for the long haul, hoping you can still all Bear with me! I still have lots to learn ya know!

What's next some of you asked? Well i discovered that my Dad wishes now to have a F5 mandolin after he heard that i was gonna build one for my wife Line so 2 F5 mandolins and 1 OLF SJ for my Godfather who lives in Northern Ontario, he provided me my first tools for lutherie, his old 9" bandsaw and a router among other things when i went to visit him and Mario last year!

To Mike Tobey, Thank you dear friend, you are part of this success too brother, your rosette cutter jig was a blessing even though i broke it too, it inspired me to keep things as simple as possible and made me build one on the same design! You are a very special friend Mike!

To JJ Donohue, same feeling here my friend, i was thinking the same ever since i knew you were coming to Bob'ss, i'm looking forward to meet you too and have you and the other folks evaluate my guitar up close!

Thanks again to everybody here

Your friend

Serge

Man, I'm not sure how you did it considering the amount of time you spend on this forum, but it further inspires me, as does the entire community here, to keep the dream alive so that someday my #1 will eventually begin and a lifetime love affair will follow! Thanks!

Serge, Serge, Serge, my fine Canadian friend, I am so happy for you. Man, you have come so far and grown so much as a luthier during these last 6 months. Mama looks so proud and happy, I know the music she makes with that guitar and with your family will be wonderful.
The whole OLF, if I may say so, is as happy about the successful outcome of this guitar as you are. We felt every drop of sweat right along with you.

A mighty fine instrument for a mighty effort from a man that I wish I lived next door to. Congratulations my friend.

Ron

Thanks Bruce, you are a big part of this too, i really appreciate everything you've done for me buddy!!!

Thanks Anthony, you sure guessed it, the pressure of holding such a secret and having other members of the family involved in the cover up was immense, besides that, 5-6 months to build something like this was really getting long because of all the jigs i had to redo and felt in the end it was due time to put the strings on, especially after Mark Tripp beat me to the finish line, that did it! I can't wait to meet the fine person you are too Anthony, besides guitar building, we seem to share the same values too ie Family!

Thanks Darin, you can sure count on me to help and motivate you to get to your shop and build a mighty fine instrument, all you need bud is the will and a camera and post pics of your progress as your guitar takes shape, it will not only satisfy my curiosity but by doing so, you will motivate others to keep on building as well! Go for it Darin, we are all behind you!

Ron, the feeling of wanting to be closer is shared my fine Arkansas friend, though i only know you virtually, we have something special, you've been a big brother since my very first post and it never changed, did i ever mentionned to you that i love your Family name bud? I often think of your name and yourself when i'm tempted to go fast, i then think to myself "Serge, Ron would remind you to go slow" and enjoy the ride! Thank you too dear friend!

Serge

Serge, my good friend, that is absolutely fantastic! Those pictures of your mom holding her beautiful guitar just blew me away completely... What a heart warming experience.

I guess I shouldn't of challenged you for a race to the finish!

Seeing all the kind words that are sent your way makes me extremely happy and it makes me think that it couldn't happen to a nicer and more deserving guy.

I can't wait to try her out! I never thought you were this close to finishing it. Tu t'es pas pogne l'cul mon homme!

Here's to many more to come! Keep up the amazing work and progress my friend.

All the best,

Al

The cub did good, 'cause Momma Bear likes it!!!    Seriously, not bad for a foreigner!

I especially like the way you added unique design elements, and got them to blend together into an harmonious whole (no, NOT an enharmonius hole!). It all came together beautifully!

Alain, you are the guy who thought me fist hand how to aim higher, the quality of your work motivated me to do the same and follow your example and not settle for less than do my best, tho i was not really patient with the finish, i'll be very honored and proud to have you play this guitar with your undeniable talent!

Non mon homme, j'ai pas eu l'temps de me l'pogner!

Thanks Carlton, you were always there too buddy, your motivation and brilliant sense of humor followed me to my shop also! I know, my soundhole is enormus!

Thanks Donovan, in case i did not do it before, let me welcome you to the OLF! Looking at your signature reminded me of my very humble beginning, i accepted to err from the start and i accept that i will in the future. The OLF is a gold mine for info but it's more than that actually, you'll have all these big brothers and sisters watching over your shoulder while yu build, they'll send you love and affection by the bucket and they will keep your spirits high when you have bad days.

You sure came to the finest place on earth, the OLF---> One Large Family!

Fantastic, Serge! Ain't it great?

Hey, one suggestion: put a label in that thang, so your momma can point to it and brag about you to her friends!

(I couldn't see one, so if it's in there, never mind)

Best,

Michael

It looks great Serge! It seemed like the last few weeks the git just flew together! Pretty darn nice for a second build!

It's good to see Mom and Pop Poirier! So how long has Mom been playing? It looks like she knows what she's doing.

Tell your Mom, after 9 months of gestation,it's the least you could do!

Your a good kid Sergio!
